Elizabeth L7 - Opposition to the Religious Settlement
This lesson contains:
A recap of the beliefs of Puritans, then an exercise to colour-code which parts were threats and not threats, with an extension to consider Elizabeth's recations to their demands.
An overiew of the two major issues Puritans had: vestments and crucifixes.
An overview of the Catholic challenge, and a map activity to input information about each country and their threat to the Settlement. The extension is to colour-code the level of threat faced.
A final activity to consider which group, Puritans or Catholics, posed the more pressing threat, and why.
