This lesson contains:

• A starter to examine two maps of the world before and after Elizabeth's reign.

• Discussional background information about the reasons why people explored, including the trade goods, methods of travel, new instruments etc.

• An activity to sort the reasons for exploration into a triple Venn diagram.

• An alternative activity using textbooks (if you have and prefer this) which is more lieracy based and exam-focused.

• An exam exemplar to finish which students scrutinise.
