Slavery L2 - What Was the Slave Triangle?

This lesson contains:

• A starter which can be edited depending on what you have taught prior to this lesson.

• An overview on the board of the reason why Europeans engaged in the slave trade with a basic overview of the trade triangle. Students then use the information provided to complete the triangle worksheet to show the goods that passed and the regions involved.

• A task to study the origins of the slave trade from its Portuguese and Spanish roots through to British involvement. This is done via guided read on the worksheet.

• A plenary to check the learning.
