Dictators L2 - What Were the Events of the Russian Revolution?
This lesson contains:
- A 'do it now' starter which can be modified to fit what you taught last.
- An introduction to Karl Marx and Lenin and their beliefs about Communism. Students complete a short gap fill to consider the changes Lenin wanted to make to Russia.
- A main task to study the key events of the revolution. Students study an information sheet provided and use it answer questions as the events progress.
- An extension activity to consider how well the Bolsheviks took advantage of events taking place in Russia.
- A plenary to spot the difference (in a given set of statements) between capitalism and communism.
