Saxons & Normans L24 – Norman Aristocracy & Odo

This lesson contains:
An activity to recap previous material, based on the last lesson in the scheme.
An overview of the aristocracy with an activity to study a story by a fictional character, Henri, and use what he tells the students to complete an organiser to show the major changes to culture that the country went through under the Normans.
A quick recap of Odo’s behaviour. Students then the information sheet to complete a timeline of Odo’s life. The points are already marked on the timeline, all the students have to do is annotate why his life got better or worse. There is a summery task to also note down the moments when he was at his height of his favour, and the major reasons for Odo’s downfall.
An opportunity to do some exam practice at the end.
