Saxons & Normans L11 - Rewards & Marcher Earldoms

SKU: GCSEASL11
£2.50Price

This lesson contains:

  • A activity to find out how William tried to keep the people happy by having some continuity for the Saxons and how this was done. Students complete the section on their worksheets.
  • A task to then study how William then rewarded his followers to overcome the issues of not looking after his own people. This is then done on the worksheet.
  • The students then find out about the Marcher earldoms, why Wales was an issue, and what powers these earls had compared to other earls. The students make a note of the different earldoms included in this and the main powers. This is also done on the same worksheet for an 'all in one' feel and to help them revise easier later.
  • A choice of two plenaries to practice different exam question types.
