Saxons & Normans L10 - Submission of the Earls
This lesson contains:
- A discussion on the board of the next steps after William's invasion and his choice to move towards London. The students stick in a map of his route (editable) and annotate as you read through the information with them. This takes the story right through to William's coronation in December 1066.
- A discussion as to why he might not want to attack London directly.
- A colour-coding activity, and follow up question, about whether the earls should have submitted to William or not, with some factual reasons that cover both sides of this argument.
- Some exam practice as a review.
