Silk Roads L7 - Disease - How Did Disease Spread?

This lesson contains:

• An introduction to Black Death and the places it spread to. Students watch a gruesome video from YouTube and discuss some of the key terms.

• An activity to read the symptoms sources sheet and complete the left side of their worksheet. Then, the students are led through the information (using the teacher on-board slides) and students complete the floe diagram on the right side of their sheets.

• An activity to study the Siege of Caffa and explain how this may have caused the plague to spread to Europe.

• A plenary to test the students knowledge from the lesson.
