Saxons & Normans L20 – The Norman Church & Lanfranc's Reforms

This lesson contains:
An overview of the importance of the Church to the Normans and the issues that were being faced under Stigand, including simony and pluralism. Students write these definitions into their sheets and also complete the activity at the top to give an overview of the Church.
An activity for the students to use the information sheet to complete table to show what Lanfranc did to change the Church.
Another task to colour-code the main things that the changes to the Church did to William’s power. The students can follow this up with a short writing task.
A review task at the end.
